Andrea Fazzari is a Tokyo-based James Beard Award-winning photographer, author, chef whisper and designer specializing in travel and the culinary world. She is the author, photographer, and co-designer of Tokyo New Wave: 31 Chefs Defining Japan’s Next Generation (2018) and the new SUSHI SHOKUNIN: JAPAN’S CULINARY MASTERS (September, 2020), published by Assouline.

Fazzari is the recipient of the Lowell Thomas Gold Award for Travel Photography for her work in Argentina for Departures Magazine. Some of her campaigns and projects include those for such companies as Cathay Pacific Airlines and Four Seasons Hotels, and magazines from Travel + Leisure and Vanity Fair, to Architectural Digest and Departures. Four Magazine has profiled Andrea and her culinary work, and Photo District News featured her as one of the year’s best cookbook photographers in PDN’s Food Issue for 2017.
In addition to Japan and her native Manhattan, Fazzari has lived in France, Italy, Spain, Korea, and Hong Kong and has visited close to ninety countries. She speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish. In 2004 she was named one of Photo District News’s “30 Photographers to Watch”. Fazzari became a photographer by chance after working in fashion and film public relations for Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Miramax Films.
