Andrea Fazzari is a Tokyo-based international photographer, author, stylist, and dining consultant specializing in travel and the culinary world. She is the author, photographer, and co-designer of her book Tokyo New Wave: 31 Chefs Defining Japan’s Next Generation (Ten Speed Press). This unique 304 page book is Andrea’s love letter to Japan and its distinct philosophy and approach to food. It includes 435 of her photographs, her insights, interviews, and chef recipes. Andrea is an insider in the city’s food scene, working regularly with Tokyo’s many influential and respected chefs.

Andrea is the photographer and stylist of L’Aperitivo, shot entirely on location in Italy. She is Starwood Hotel Group’s first Luxury Collection Global Explorer; her photographs, journal entries and audio narration of her travels on six continents are featured on the Luxury Collection website and in the Luxury Collection Destination Guides. She is a tastemaker in Hotel Stories, a travel book which showcases unique luxury properties around the world, and the featured photographer for the book Bvlgari Il Ristorante, photographed in Japan.

Andrea is the recipient of the Lowell Thomas Gold Award for Travel Photography. She photographs campaigns and projects for such companies as Cathay Pacific Airlines and Four Seasons Hotels, and magazines from Travel + Leisure and Vanity Fair, to Architectural Digest and Departures. Four Magazine has profiled Andrea and her culinary work, and Photo District News featured her as one of the year’s best cookbook photographers in PDN’s Food Issue for 2017.

In addition to Tokyo and her native Manhattan, Andrea has lived in Paris, Florence and Hong Kong. She speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish. In 2004 she was named one of Photo District News’s “30 Photographers to Watch”. She became a photographer by chance after working in fashion and film public relations for Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Miramax Films.
